Demand Management
Increasing demand for resources can be met either by expanding supply or by managing demand.
Demand management is the institution of measures that seek to ensure the right balance of demand- and supply-side options is achieved, usually with the aim of increasing both environmental and economic benefits in a sustainable manner. Demand management may be achieved through a mix of policy measures such as legislation, pricing, incentives, and information dissemination.
